Psomagen Announces PacBio Revio Sequencing Capabilities for North American Customers

ROCKVILLE, Md. — June 23, 2023 — Psomagen is pleased to announce the arrival of our newest sequencing platform, the Pacific Biosciences Revio system.

The Revio can produce 360 Gb of HiFi reads per day, compared to the Sequel IIe’s 24 GB per day. That’s 1,300 whole human genomes in a year. In a single run, this technology provides small variants, structural variants, repeat expansions, methylation, and haplotype phasing. With four independent stages, the Revio can sequence multiple samples and applications simultaneously. It has applications in genomics, epigenomics, and transcriptomics.

PacBio’s Revio system has added additional long-read NGS to Psomagen’s current fleet of short- and long-read next-generation sequencers and microarray systems, offering services like whole genome, whole exome, single cell and bulk RNAseq, microbiome, Olink Proteomics and additional applications.

“We’re delighted to add another PacBio system to our services,” says Dr. Su Hong, Psomagen CEO. “Their technology is at the forefront of long-read sequencing developments. This option makes it possible to conduct massive sequencing projects faster than ever before.”

Psomagen's parent company, Macrogen, has been a PacBio Certified Service Provider since 2015. “It’s exciting to join Macrogen in offering PacBio's newest platform,” says Dr. Hong. “Technology like this allows our clients to conduct robust genetic research, and opens the door to a wider range of multiomics projects.”
